Stewardship is an integral part of our baptismal call to discipleship and of our Catholic tradition recognizing that all we have is a gift from God. Our practice of stewardship gives us an opportunity to return to God a portion of what God has given us.
The stewardship of time, talent and treasure allows St. Luke’s to continue the mission and ministry of Jesus through our Pastoral Care and Outreach Ministries, Faith Formation Ministry, Food Pantry as well as the efficient administration of the Parish and up-keep and maintenance of our buildings.
We are grateful for the parishioners, benefactors and friends of St. Luke’s for your continued generosity to our parish. Your stewardship makes a difference.
In addition to our regular weekly Offertory, there are several opportunities for giving:
St. Luke’s Feast Day Appeal
The proceeds from our annual parish Feast Day Celebration are directed to St. Luke’s Faith Formation Program.
Parish Restoration Fund
Donations to the Parish Restoration Fund are used for the upkeep of our beautiful English Gothic Church building and future building projects.
Daily Bread Food Pantry
The Daily Bread Food Pantry is the second largest food pantry in Schenectady County. Annually the pantry provides over 80,000 parcels of food to our most vulnerable neighbors. Donations of cash or grocery items are greatly appreciated and will make the difference to many families and individuals who are in need. The Parish monthly food collection is held on the second weekend of each month, you may also contribute online by visiting our Food Pantry Page. Grocery items may be placed in the Gathering Area of the Church or dropped off at the Food Pantry. The Daily Bread Pantry is open Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. For more information visit our Food Pantry page For requests for food assistance, please call (518) 347-1385.
Memorial Gifts
Often, when the death of a loved one occurs, family or friends look for ways to express their sympathy in a meaningful way. The Memorial Gift is a wonderful opportunity to honor those who have died. Please consider placing the following in the obituary of the deceased: “Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church.”
